I Ate My Way Through

Not too long ago, Australians associated Lebanese cuisine with the greasy takeaway döner kebabs that were eaten after a big night out. Now, mention Lebanese food and people instantly start talking about tabbouleh, falafel or Lebanese charcoal chicken which is smothered with “Toum” the legendary garlic sauce.

I noticed a trend & interest towards fresh homemade Lebanese food and wanted to share my knowledge and love for this exquisite cuisine. Foodies who are hungry for a real taste of Lebanese food are now able to take part in a culinary extravaganza visiting some delightful Lebanese gems in suburban Sydney.

As of February, Norma will be running I Ate My Way Through Granville, a gourmet walking tour across the buzzing Lebanese hub in the multicultural suburb of Granville in Sydney’s West. Tour attendees will start with a traditional breakfast before visiting Norma’s favourite butcher, a bakery and then a Lebanese supermarket. The tour finishes with an exquisite lunch banquet and a visit to a pastry palace!

This tour is a hands-on educational experience and I hope to expose attendees to even more exotic Lebanese delicacies such as soujouk (spicy sausage), kafta (mince marinated in spices cooked in many ways) or if they’re game, nkhaat (lamb’s brains pan fried with garlic, lemon and coriander).
